A first-generation immigrant from Puerto Rico, Manuel R. “Manny” Negron is no stranger to hard work, an advantage that he brings to his clients as the founder of GenWealth Advisory Group.
Manny learned the financial services trade under the mentorship of financial strategist Doug Andrews. After becoming the vice president at his mentor’s company, Manny set out on his own. With more than a decade of experience under his belt in the insurance and financial industry, his formative years were spent helping retirees and soon-to-be retirees recover from the economic instability of 2001 and then 2008.
Those early experiences further drove Manny to help those in or near retirement with outside-the-box thinking and custom strategies. He prides himself in taking the time to build lifelong relationships with his clients, relationships that are rooted in performance and trust. This attitude pervades his work both with insurance services and in securities advising at GenWealth Advisory Group.
Manny holds two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Utah in political science and psychology, holds an insurance license in Utah and has passed the Series 65 securities exam.
Out of the office, Manny is devoted to his wife and high school sweetheart, Becky, and their three children, and is an avid baseball enthusiast.
Ryan brings a wealth of experience to the business.
Prior to joining GenWealth Advisory Group, Ryan spent 13 years in digital marketing and advertising. He helped build and lead two higher education lead-generation platforms to and through acquisition; founded his own digital marketing firm, www.ellamiamedia.com; and co-founded Musician Labs, an online musical education platform for songwriters, led by award-winning Nashville power-duo Monty Powell and Anna Wilson. With a deep understanding of finance inside the business sector, Ryan jumped at the chance to transfer his skills to help indviduals better-manage their finances and fulfill their retirement goals.
“Getting the opportunity to add my experience in business management, marketing and compliance to the successful business Manny has built with GenWealth was a logical and exciting next step in my career,” Ryan said.
The tech-lover is quick to point out that automation and self-service, while convenient and empowering for clients in small doses, can lead to excuses for businesses to get lazy and cut themselves off from the people who need them.
“At GenWealth Advisory Group, we leverage cutting-edge technology to help make sound decisions for our clients, but at the end of the day, we want to be on the front lines interacting with each of them directly, delivering face-to-face, personal and thoughtful strategies,” Ryan said. “If a client needs an answer, we make sure it’s as easy as picking up the phone or dropping by the office – whenever they need us.”
In addition to a bachelor of science degree in mass communication from the University of Utah, Ryan holds life and health insurance licenses in the state of Utah.
Ryan and his wife of more than 10 years, Mandy, have two adorable daughters, Mia and Ella, and live in South Jordan. When he isn’t at work or spending time with his family, Ryan enjoys dabbling in many hobbies including writing and recording music (guitar); playing basketball, baseball and golf; and cheering for the for the Utah Jazz, San Francisco Giants, New York Yankees and University of Utah athletics.
As co-founder of GenWealth Advisory Group, Becky Negron has held many roles throughout the firm’s history while running the family business alongside her husband, Manny. Currently, as the director of first impressions, Becky oversees client gifting, welcomes clients into the office and runs reception operations.
Becky is passionate about providing a welcoming experience for every person who walks through the doors, and she loves getting to know GenWealth Advisory Group clients on a personal level. She understands their desire to feel safe and special when working with a financial team and works hard to provide that experience for all.
Away from the office, Becky enjoys spending family time with Manny and their three children. She spends her spare time working out, traveling and watching English films.
Michele Olsen joined GenWealth Advisory Group in 2015 and quickly became the go-to person on the team for helping projects get completed in an accurate and timely manner. She handles a little bit of everything, from greeting clients coming in for appointments to processing new account applications and policies.
Before joining the team, Michele worked in the mortgage industry for 13 years. She then took on the role of being a stay at home mom to her four children before entering the financial services industry a few years later. She enjoys interacting with GenWealth’s clients and playing a significant part in helping them feel more secure about their financial futures.
Michele and her husband live in West Jordan with their children. Outside of work, Michele enjoys exercising, being outdoors, listening to music and completing home renovation projects.
